(Double) Monthly Update – December and January

Envoyé 05/02/2008 à 00h45 par Flak
Well, as I promised I bring you my results for the last two months, I had to put them together as I was on Holydays-Exams for a month in between and couldn’t play all I wanted. Between early December and late January I played around 16K hands between CG and MTT-SNG, which merely count for a whole month.

The first half of the entry counts for December and was near to a disaster month if it’s not for a FT I made the last tournament on the last night before going to Spain lol. It was a $16 360-player MTT, and I finished 8th for $124; short stack with AQos against A8s, trying to double up I slow played my hand, against the flush draw that came on the river… sigh…

Poker Stars, $15 + $1.50 NL Hold'em Tournament, 1,500/3,000 Blinds, 8 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

UTG+1: 10,334
Hero (MP1): 35,397
MP2: 63,482
CO: 118,298
BTN: 103,277
SB: 86,757
BB: 43,063
UTG: 79,392

Pre-Flop: (6,900) Q A dealt to Hero (MP1)
UTG calls 3,000, UTG+1 folds, Hero calls 3,000, 2 folds, BTN calls 3,000, SB calls 1,500, BB checks

Flop: (17,400) Q 2 T (5 Players)
SB bets 12,000, 2 folds, Hero raises to 32,097 and is All-In, BTN folds, SB calls 20,097

Turn: (81,594) 8 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

River: (81,594) 9 (2 Players - 1 is All-In)

Results: 81,594 Pot
Hero showed Q A (a pair of Queens) and LOST (-35,397 NET)
SB showed 8 A (a flush, Ace high) and WON 81,594 (+46,197 NET)

Off course he has the odds to call, and I took the risk limping precisely ‘coz I wanted to be on that situation, but with all those bad results I had on December particularly on my $20 MTT I wanted to won that one so bad =/

December MTT and SNG were then not THAT bad (to be red) with a - $62 for 5K hands

Then played like no CG lol:

As I said on the last entry, I wasn’t very happy with my results on December and thought some rest would come with benefits to my game. Even if my SNG game wasn’t that bad I was taking a lot of risks I usually don’t and it was hurting my game on general.

Then finished my exams, I got back on January with a huge envy to play again and I really enjoyed coming back. But results were still pretty unconvincing. MTT had just one big good result with a win on the Limpers SH which put me on the fight for the 2 places to the $5K 6-handed WSOP championship (I’m 6th right now). But I’m not deploying my best game on MTT $20, I’m kinda disgusted with my luck and it is influencing my game too.

Good news is that SNGs were good this month and I could balance some of the negative MTT results. I keep having some good ITM in 6-handed (3 tables), and one good 1st place on full-ring (6 tables).

The news on CG is that I finally came to $100 winnings on NL5 and I move on to NL10 =) Problem is that I have 2 options: deep $0.02-$0.05 blinds and standard $0.05-$0.10. What I don’t know is what game I should focus. It’s true that deep should give an advantage to the playing, but for these micro-stakes I think it just induces people to go CS style. I think I could beat the game with some training, but what I see is that the standard version is a lot better for my style I think. More money involved, and playing tighter. So I’ll try both, playing mainly the standard version, and some less “deep” version in which I need to learn how to at least finish breaking even lol. My goal is to get to $250 on CG winnings to then move to NL25. I hope I’ll in some 2-3 months. It started oh-so-well, in a day I got to $140, but since that I’ve going back to $100 =/

So these are the stats for both months:

MTT

SNG

both

I got to add some $200 for the Limpers SH which gives us a lousy +$87 (phew)

CG

Wasn’t all that bad, and I made some money on Winamax too but I don’t know how to track hands for that room (I estimate some $25) which is big crap coz I feel I’m almost doing the same with MTT and CG, and it piss me off.

Well I hope February comes with better MTT results, so I can keep going on.

c-ya next time and gl!!!
