Hey guys,

From now on, I'm going to write my blog in english. The main reason is that I "met" several online players that obviously don't undersand french and I'd like to share poker stuff with them.

As you probably know, my Vegas trip was not very good poker-wise and I'll try to write an entry about it.

Today I played some NL200 with good results.

I've also been trying Holdem Manager which is a great product and you should check it out.

Here some hands from this session

SB ($198)
BB ($58)
UTG ($718)
Hero ($231)
BTN ($147)

Dealt to Hero 44

UTG raises to $7, call, fold, fold, call,

FLOP ($22) Q24
check, UTG bets $16, Hero calls $16, BB folds,

TURN ($54) Q246
UTG bets $36, Hero calls $36,

RIVER ($126) Q246T
UTG bets $75, Hero raises to $172, UTG calls $97.60,

Hero shows 44
(Flop 94.7%, Turn 100.0%)

UTG shows KQ
(Flop 5.3%, Turn 0.0%)

Hero wins $469
On this hand, I chose to slowplay my set because the board is pretty dry and I expect vilain to have a strong range that is going to value bet on three streets. He might also try to bluff me out on scary cards such as a King or an Ace.
We're three players on the flop so I didn't want to raise and give away the strength of my hand. I've been making more raise bluff on the flop lately but most people still don't play back at me and keep folding so I thought that line was probably the best one.

BTN views me as kinda suspicious and elected to ship it in with AQ even though my cold 4bet shows ton of strength.

In blinds war I get a great flop for my hand and Vilain raises me right away. On that kind of flop, his range is weighted towards bluff so I played my hand passively to give my opponent some room to bluff.

I'm gonna keep playing NL200 for some time and hopefully get back to NL400 asap.

Nice to have you back ^^

A few things, remarks and questions:

1) It is nice to have a fellow blogger writing in english. I'm not that lonely anymore ^^

2) Don't worry about Vegas, you keep destroying the game on-line anyways =P

3)What's all this Holdem Manager thing? I saw it once I don't even remember where, and they said it was fantastic.. Do you like it better than PT3? Are you using them both? It has new freaking cooler stuff?

4)AA hand.. such an easy game lol!

5)A6s hand, I loved that check on the river!

Yeah, the Don's back!

About the third hand: do you really think your check on the river was good? You called his 3bet on the flop and a pot bet on the turn, so I think it was pretty hard for him to bluff here. And where is the 6 of spade on the river? Two 6 of spade? 5 spades on the board?

It is RIGGED!!!

flak: I'm currently still trying to figure out HM features but so far I have to say I really like it.

Vincent: Hum I had more than 50 pictures in the entry so I had to remove icons and I guess I didn't replace them well. Anyway about the A6 hand, the board gets really ugly by the river but since I'm out of position and I'm never going to get called by worse, checking the river is fine.

Ok no problem but I was confused by the suits. I perfectly understand your check with 4 clubs on the board, but with 3 clubs you still think the same way?

Like I said I expect him to have absolutely nothing so there is no point in betting the river for value. You could make a case for betting small the river trying to induce a shove by vilain who might see it as a blocking bet and think that you don't have much and can't really stand any heat but you can't really do it on a 4 to a flush board

Yes, but on a board with 3 clubs, since you know he can't bet on the river, a small bet just in case he had a king or something

Maybe I was not very clear on that hand.

When vilain raises my cbet on a 667 board, I expect him to do it with a wide range that missed the flop. He's prolly tired of me betting and raising every single flop and he's making a move on a dry flop that I'm going to miss a fair amount of the time.
With that said and the fact that I do have the nuts in blinds war, the line that is going to maximise my value is a passive one hoping he keeps bluffing.

Yeah, I get that. So you think the possibility he could bluff on that river is more likely than a bad call on a river bet. I think we could talk about it for hours
